Beautiful Redemption

Ethan Wate has spent most of his life longing to escape the stiflingly small Southern town of Gatlin. He never thought he would meet the girl of his dreams, Lena Duchannes, who unveiled a secretive, powerful, and cursed side of Gatlin, hidden in plain sight. And he never could have expected that he would be forced to leave behind everyone and everything he cares about. So when Ethan awakes after the chilling events of the Eighteenth Moon, he has only one goal: to find a way to return to Lena and the ones he loves.

Back in Gatlin, Lena is making her own bargains for Ethan's return, vowing to do whatever it takes -- even if that means trusting old enemies or risking the lives of the family and friends Ethan left to protect.

Worlds apart, Ethan and Lena must once again work together to rewrite their fate, in this stunning finale to the Beautiful Creatures series.

In this finale, one has to wonder the most obvious questions. Does the author tie all loose ends? Does she, tie up the story too quickly? Most importantly, does the story wrap up too quickly?

Let's get to it.....

Ethan is dead! WTF I KNOW!!! What type of story kills a guy like Ethan?

The order has been restored.

Lena has been left alone like Edward left Bella. Yes, folks I compared Twilight to this series. Sorry.... :(

I still do not know what the fuck Macon is. WHAT IS HE?? TELL ME NOW!!!!!! Even after reading the book, I still am not sure!!! Maybe I missed it...Please, is he the super caster? Folks, Macon does some amazing shit in this book! I am so jealous of his, "even better than X-Men" powers.

There are now three villains in this series with a host of little annoying minions. One is dead, or is she? I'm not telling!!!! One is Satan in a suit and the other, well he is only the leader of the Keepers and he is messed up folks.

Amma, Link, Olivia, John and the happy cast of the Duchannes casters make me sad. They will do anything for Ethan.

Now, onto the story. In this final novel, we finally get a glimpse into Lenna's mind as most of the story shifts back and forth between her and Ethan's POV. Kami does a great job linking the plots together. Ethan is tortured on the Other Side with his mother and his aunt. While Lenna, Macon and Amma keep Ethan's father under a powerful cast so no one has to deal with the reality of his death.

I do not want to spoil anything, the story is worth every minute reading it. I felt satisfied with the ending, even some tears in my eyes at the end.

If you have not read the Caster Chronicles, I recommend them. Sure, there is several instances of teenage angst, plot lines that end too soon, and characters that drive you insane. All of this is balanced out with a cool mix of powers and kiss ass battles. I give the overall series an 8 out of 10 and I thank the authors for making many trips to work and back worth the time!

Until next time!
