A Rare Gift

A Rare Gift by Jaci Burton

With a disastrous marriage behind him, Wyatt Kent has no interest in getting involved with any woman, let alone his ex-wife's younger sister. But when Calliope Andrews hires him to build an addition onto her day care center, Wyatt can't help but notice she's a desirable woman, as warm and funny as his ex was cold and aloof.

Calliope fell hard for Wyatt the first time he walked through the door of her family's home, and can't believe her sister let him get away. He's still the star of all her fantasies, and she's determined to prove to him she's nothing like his manipulative ex. Wyatt may be all business, but Calliope sees the way he looks at her when he's supposed to be working...

It's not long before Wyatt and Calliope are keeping each other warm on cold December nights. But it's going to take a Christmas miracle for Wyatt to put his trust in love a second time.**

These two, I think I have a soft spot for men that are gruff and angry and turn in to big teddy bears. Wyatt is pissed, he in a funk and its not been light since his divorce. He wanted a family, he wanted kids and dogs and he wanted all of that with Cassandra. So he thought, until they divorced and now he wants nothing to do with women at all. Enter Calliope, Cassie's little sister, he's attracted to her but he doesn't want to be, shes just a kid and his ex- sister-in-law. That makes it all wrong right?

Calliope has been in lust with Wyatt since he walked in to her house when she was fifteen. Now she's all grown up and wants things to be more with Wyatt. She wants him and having him close by working on her daycare is just the amount of closeness she needs to get him to notice that shes not a little girl anymore.

Great  story, it was easy to read. No angst really, little bumps along the way mostly from a man being stubborn. I thoroughly enjoyed watching Wyatt fight the good fight that was doomed really from the moment he felt his attraction to Calliope.  Now  get to read Brody's story. Youngest Kent brother. I can't wait.
