Megan Young never expected to see Adam again. He left after their last romantic interlude and she hadn't heard from him since. The result of that interlude was a little boy, Cole. She didn't try to find him, she didn't want to. She was afraid he'd treat Cole like her father treated her.

Adam is damaged. He has horrible nightmares and is so broken that he believes he doesn't deserve to have love or a family. He wants Megan, he enjoys having sex with her but that is all he can give her. His past dictates his life. He can't even talk about it with anyone.

When someone decides they want to destroy everything that Megan has worked for Adam steps up and is determined to keep her and their son safe.

Watching them through this process of finding out who was out to get Megan was very interesting. Even though he put it out there that he can not have a family Adam keeps finding himself wanting it more and more. Megan can't keep risking her heart she says but with Adam she just can't help herself. He seems to have her heart already and she can't take it back. I enjoyed this fast little read very much.
