Better Off Friends

Better Off Friends by Elizabeth Eulberg

For Macallan and Levi, it was friends at first sight. Everyone says guys and girls can’t be just friends, but these two are. They hang out after school, share tons of inside jokes, their families are super close, and Levi even starts dating one of Macallan’s friends. They are platonic and happy that way.

Eventually they realize they’re best friends — which wouldn’t be so bad if they didn’t keep getting in each other’s way. Guys won’t ask Macallan out because they think she’s with Levi, and Levi spends too much time joking around with Macallan, and maybe not enough time with his date. They can’t help but wonder . . . are they more than friends or are they better off without making it even more complicated?

From romantic comedy superstar Elizabeth Eulberg comes a fresh, fun examination of a question for the ages: Can guys and girls ever really be just friends? Or are they always one fight away from not speaking again — and one kiss away from true love?

I received this book as an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for a honest review.

Can guys and girls be friends? I have to be honest that I never thought about it. I grew up with boy cousins, and spent a ton of time with them. I had girl friends no friends that were guys, well not best friends. Any way I started this book coming off of four books that were kind of a disappointment. This was not. It was fun and young. Of course there was a tad bit of drama but it was about teenagers, what else would you expect.

Macallan and Levi met when he moved to Wisconsin from California and he needed someone to show him around school. At first Macallan was not happy about it. She didn't want to show him around but after they spent more and more time together it was a friendship that was meant to last.

I really don't want to say too much because its just lovely to get to the things in the story yourself.  I will tell you this, their friendship while its made to last, goes through ups and downs. Boyfriends and girlfriends, boyfriends that flirt with girlfriends and even international separation.  Fun, fast and cute to read. I'll tell you I wish I had listened to it, the banter they have each chapter end just screamed to me to be heard. Maybe when it comes out! Don't forget to leave the author love in a review!!
