Point of Retreat

Point of Retreat by Colleen Hoover

Hardships and heartache brought them together…now it will tear them apart.

Layken and Will have proved their love can get them through anything; until someone from Will’s past re-emerges, leaving Layken questioning the very foundation on which their relationship was built. Will is forced to face the ultimate challenge…how to prove his love for a girl who refuses to stop ‘carving pumpkins.’

Finally they get to show their love to the world and they get to be a family. In one of Will's classes at school shows up a blast from the past, Vaughn. The girl that broke his heart two weeks after his parents died. She says she just wants to talk but seriously, he told her he had a girlfriend and that he was happy, she wants to cause problems.

Layken is young and she just doesn't understand how Will could of kept something like Vaughn being in one of his classes.  She feels betrayed, she feels like he still loves her. She gives him the time to figure out what he needs, if he's with her for the love they share or because he feels sorry for her.

I loved reading more of Will and Layken's story. Seeing all of the same cast of characters was comforting. I even enjoyed meeting Kiersten and Sherry. The love they have shines through and I loved the stars. I just can't say enough about how much I enjoy these two and their families even though they aren't conventional families.
