The Scorch Trials (The Maze Runner #2)

Solving the Maze was supposed to be the end.

Thomas was sure that escape from the Maze would mean freedom for him and the Gladers. But WICKED isn’t done yet. Phase Two has just begun. The Scorch.

There are no rules. There is no help. You either make it or you die.

The Gladers have two weeks to cross through the Scorch—the most burned-out section of the world. And WICKED has made sure to adjust the variables and stack the odds against them.

Friendships will be tested. Loyalties will be broken. All bets are off.

There are others now. Their survival depends on the Gladers’ destruction—and they’re determined to survive.

Now that I have finished the series, I have to wonder what my feelings would be if I would have written this review when I read the book.

Now that the group of Gladers are out of the maze, they think they are safe. A group of people saved them and has taken them to a secluded location.

WICKED, however has the group right where they want them.

1. Death-check
2. Confusion-check
3. Ominous warnings-check
4. Tattoos that mean nothing in the scheme of the series-check

The list could go on and on. Tomas and his group along with a newly discovered group of girls and set off on another trial. They are let out into the world and each of them have to cross the desert; The Scorch.

Each group are given different variables to test their minds to see if WICKED can use the data to find a cure.

We are taken across the desert, through the Crank city where we meet two interesting characters and to the final site where the groups are taken away to WICKED headquarters.

This book is full of suspense and moments where you want to choke some of the main characters.

Overall, a very enjoyable read.

Rating: 4 out of 5 Stars

Until Next Time,

Jay
