The God Killers

Imagine an alternate reality that appears, on the surface, just like our own. However, in this reality, the white light famously reported at the end of our lives is not an escape or deliverance -- it is a trap. A creature calling itself God in a parallel dimension consumes the souls of humans, devouring their energy to sustain itself. This is the reality that Cipher, Han, Natalie and Father Hurley inhabit in The God Killers. Each has had near death experiences (NDE's) and each was resuscitated before their souls were consumed, coming back to Earth horrified by the truth: There is no exit.
Now they must attempt the only course of action available to them: they must kill God. With the help of satanic messages decoded from the nonsensical ramblings of the possessed, the group must evade ghosts and demons on their mission to not only save their lives, but, more importantly, their afterlives as well.

I will admit that I was very interested in this book. I have a very open mind, and a curious side to me that is always asking questions. This book is the first that I have read that challenges the conventional religious thought. Do I think that the author was throwing tomatoes at God, No. However, this book does put questions out there.

What if what we knew about God was not true?

Before you start to flame me for me review, stop for a minute and think. Religion is based on faith. This book does not question that. It does, question the premise behind the intentions of God and his angels.

We are taken through a very quick story. One that has the main characters on a quest to kill God. They have seen the true face of God and to save humanity, they need to kill him.

I will not tell you any more about the plot, just that the length of the story does limit the creativity that the author has. The story rushes around and the climax is more of a mild crescendo and honestly, very predictable.

If the author ever writes a second book, I will read it. The characters are easy to identify with and very easy to like.
