Sheltered by the Millionaire

Sheltered by the Millionaire by Catherine Mann

Texas tycoon Whit Daltry has always been a thorn in Megan Maguire's side, especially when he tries to put the kibosh on her animal shelter. But when he saves her daughter during the worst tornado in recent memory, Megan sees beneath his prickly exterior to the hero underneath. Soon, the storm's recovery makes bedfellows of these opposites. Until Megan's old reflexes kick in--should she brace for betrayal or say yes to Whit once and for all?

I read the original Texas Cattleman's Club (TCC) in the early 2000's and when I saw these new set I was very excited!

We got to see a little bit of Megan in the first book of this set of TCC, when Beth volunteered at the animal shelter. This time around its all about Megan. When we first see her we get to see what she went through during the tornado. She had left work to go pick up her daughter, Evie, for a movie and then the sirens went off.  After the tornado, she is determined to get to her daughters school, she has to know if shes okay. Whit finds her walking and offers to take her to the school. Even though every time they've crossed paths she argues with him, she takes him up on his offer. Once there he helps her get Evie and some other children to safety.

Whit has always found Megan attractive but when they had a dispute over some land, she hasn't given him the time of day. Now that he's been able to show her that he's not the evil man she believes he is, he hopes that he can convince her to give them a try. She's skittish though, Evie's father has made her wary of anyone that looks too good to be true. As much as he wants to run, he's got to walk in this relationship. When they're together they're magic, its when Megan has time to think, stuff gets all flubbed up.

I loved watching these two dance around each other. It was nice to see Whit show Megan that not all men lie and break promises. Evie was adorable! I felt so for her and her fear of the tora-na-do's . Fantastic book! Check out the new generation of the Texas Cattleman's Club, leave the authors reviews!
