Kissing Mr. Wrong

Kissing Mr. Wrong by Kerri Carpenter

Three months ago, graphic designer Vanessa Hewitt slept with the ridiculously hot guy she met after nearly falling to her death while stargazing on a bridge. The adrenaline-fueled night of we’ll-never-see-each-other-again sex fulfilled every fantasy, but with her best friend’s wedding on the horizon, Vanessa can’t stop thinking about what would happen if her sexy stranger passed through town again.

Haunted by his time in Afghanistan, soldier John Campbell returns to his hometown just long enough to help plan an engagement party for his sister. When he realizes her best friend is the sweet one-night stand he's been fantasizing about for months, he’ll do anything to have her again…though getting trapped together in a storeroom wasn’t quite what he had in mind.

Vanessa is in hell. Or is it heaven? Because with every touch, their forbidden connection grows, until kissing Mr. Wrong starts feeling more like kissing Mr. Right...**

Thanks to Entangled and Netgalley for the book in exchange for a honest review.

After a bad day Vanessa went to the bar that is below her apartment to drown her sorrows in some drinks. While she was there she noticed a nice looking guy sitting at the end of the bar but with all she was going through just ignored it. After talking to the bartender/owner of the bar about working there she leaves. Good looking guy finds her and after a little bit of time they end up back at her apartment. They agree that this is a one off, he isn't staying and she's fine with breaking out of her box for one night.  In the light of day she's glad she had this chance and sad at the same time because it was the best sex of her life. Life moves on but she keeps thinking about him.

Coming back stateside after being in Afghanistan, he went home to visit his sister but she wasn't home. He went to a local bar where he saw the most beautiful woman he'd ever seen, and he had the best one night stand ever. He STILL fantasizes about it, three months later. Now he's back to help plan his sisters engagement party, and he hopes to run in to Vanessa again. Take her to dinner and have a real date. When he sees her again all of that attraction is still there, but she soon realizes that he's her best friends brother, the one she swore she wouldn't crush on.

I really enjoyed this book. It was simple and easy to read. It was a complicated situation but it was too hard to understand. I thought that Jess was way dramatic and a tad childish about John and Vanessa together. It was a long way around but in the end love won out. I don't want to give away too much since this is a novella, its a short book.  Sweet story and I'd love to read more by this author. Check it out! Leave the author love in the form of a review!
