Paige in Progress

Paige in Progress by Brighton Walsh

She wanted a one-night stand...and then he moved in next door.

Paige Bennett is more than content with her life and what she does—and does not—have in it. She’s got a supportive family, a great apartment, and the best friend a girl could ask for; so what if her relationships expire faster than a carton of milk? After a disastrous detour courtesy of poor judgment in the boyfriend department, her plan is back on track and her dream job is finally within her grasp. Nothing can make her lose focus now. Well, nothing except the one-night stand she had with her best friend’s surrogate brother. The one-night stand she can’t stop thinking about.

Adam Reid has always been reliable...the responsible son, the loyal friend, the steady boyfriend. Two years ago, he graduated Magna Cum Laude and is well on his way to making a name for himself at an accounting firm in Denver—a far cry from working as a helper in the Mom and Pop store his parents own in Michigan. But when said store starts failing, he’s the only one who can step in and help. So reliable Adam does what he always does, and he comes to the rescue.

Paige thought Adam was a safe bet because he lives halfway across the country. But then suddenly he’s moving back to their town, and then into her apartment building, and soon he’s worming his way right into her life. If she’s not careful, he might sneak his way into her heart, too...**

I received this ARC in exchange for a honest review.

The glimpses of Paige we get in the other books in this series doesn't really do her justice. She is snarky, funny and a take charge kind of girl. She has long time friends and loves her family but she doesn't do boyfriends or relationships. Once burned twice shy is the way she works. She has a one night stand with her BFF's boyfriends best friend and she thinks of it all the time. It was the best night she'd had in a long time and she doesn't like that she can't stop thinking about it and when she finds out that he's back in town she doesn't know what to think or how to act.

Adam is back to help his parents with their business. Its going down hill and he doesn't know why, it's always been successful and up until last year it was as well. Upside to being back in Michigan is seeing his friends and his family. The downside is he's left his job on a leave that he's not being paid for and his life in Colorado.  There might be more to the upside, Paige. They had one night together and it was fucking awesome. Every time he thinks about it his body responds. He wants Paige and he can't stop thinking about her but Paige is gun-shy. If he gets to serious she will run. The only thing is he'll chase her.

I will admit that I was freaking out when I got the email with this book in it. I loved Cade and Winter's story and then I was in lust with Jase and Tessa's story. NOW to get Paige and Adam's story was a treat and a great Christmas present.

I loved this story. Paige fighting the feelings she had for Adam and Adam wanting Paige so much but not knowing how to get to her. Paige had to learn that she could trust that Adam wasn't going to be that guy. The one that breaks her heart again.

Adam had to see that he needed Paige just as much. He was so focused on doing what he came to do and getting back to Colorado that he couldn't see the potential of where he was. Even though he did want the relationship with Paige, that was never a thing for him. Adam does relationships, he doesn't like flings. He's straight arrow and sweet. I could just squeeze them both. I loved them.

If you haven't read the first two books in this series I suggest you do that before you read this one, just so you get a clear picture of the best friends in the background of this story. Things will get spoiled if you dive into this one and not read the others, even though Adam is pretty yummy so you might just wanna get spoiled. I like Adam a lot he's a close second to Jase. He's cocky, self assured, and there is not a damn thing wrong with it.

Let me know what you think of this one! I'll be waiting and while your at it leave the author some love in the form of a review. She deserves it!
