Defender

Defender by Diana Palmer

The man who shattered her trust is back to protect her… New York Times bestselling author Diana Palmer delivers a breathtaking story of second-chance love.

When Paul Fiore disappeared from Isabel Grayling's life, he told himself it was for all the right reasons. She was young and innocent, and he was her millionaire father's lowly employee. Three years on, Paul is the FBI agent assigned to Isabel's case. Too late, he realizes what life in her Texas mansion was really like back then—and how much damage he did when he left.

Once love-struck and sheltered, Isabel has become an assistant district attorney committed to serving the law, no matter how risky it gets. But right now, the man she can't forgive is the one thing standing between her and a deadly stalker. She knows Paul won't hesitate to protect her life with his own. But if she can't trust herself to resist him, how can she trust him not to break her heart all over again?**

Thanks to Harlequin and Netgalley for the book in exchange for a honest review.

I know I've said it before but Diana Palmer is a go to author for me. She's one of the first authors I really got into and this one is no different. As soon as I saw this book on NetGalley I had to get it and I really liked it!

There is no denying that D.P. has a formula when she writes. Older male with younger girl, fighting the attraction is just apart of her M.O. While each book usually has a dark spot in it this one was a little different. This darkness was in the home of the girl of the book. Isabel's father is abusive and just crazy. He's mean and he keeps the girls locked away from the world except for school.

Paul is the head of security for Isabel's father. He figures the weirdness he feels with Mr. Grayling is just because he's rich and odd. When the feelings he has for Isabel get to be too much then he decides to leave, he just thinks that her father will just take it as it is. Instead Grayling almost kills Isabel and her younger sister, Merrie. Time passes and Paul is back with the FBI and he's dealing with the case involving Mr. Grayling. That's when Paul realizes what a monster Grayling is and what the girls have had to live with. He's so angry with himself and swears he'll do anything he can to make sure their lives are better.

That's it I'm not sharing anymore because there is more. I don't want to give anything away so you have somethings you learn while you're reading. Reading a Diana Palmer book is like going home, its familiar. Do you have an author like that? If you read D.P. let me know your favorite! OR if you have an author you love hit me with it, I'm always looking for new authors!! AS always leave the author love in the form of a review they deserve it!
