The Lawman's Convenient Bride

The Lawman's Convenient Bride by Christine Rimmer

FIRST COMES MARRIAGE

Feisty, fearless Jody Bravo's set to do everything for her baby. She doesn't need anything from anyone--especially the stepbrother of her baby's late father. But lawman Seth Yancy won't leave her to face parenthood alone, no matter how prepared she is. And even though Jody resists, soon she's taken in completely by his charms--and agrees to be his wife...

THEN COMES LOVE?

Hunky Sheriff Yancy's not without his fair share of admirers in Justice Creek. After a terrible tragedy years before, though, he's faced life alone. Now the real-life woman of his dreams just happens to be his bride--and pregnant with the child of his heart, if not his reality. So "father" is a role that will come naturally to Seth. And will "husband" really be that far behind?**

Thanks to Harlequin and Netgalley for the book in exchange for a honest review.

We met Jody in the last book, saw the start of her dealing with the surprise pregnancy with Nicolas, and his death. Now she's further along and has everything in order. She's got her supportive family there for her. Now she's got a surly looking sheriff in her shop asking about her baby and if the rumor he JUST heard is true.

Seth just found out that his step-brother is the father of Jody's baby. How could Nick not tell him about it? Now all he has to do is be there for her. What ever she needs. He wants to be apart of the babies life.  It becomes life, he loves being with the both of them. He enjoys the feedings and the diaper changing.

They fall in to an easy routine, but Jody worries about becoming too dependent on Seth. What'll happen when he goes back to his own house. Slowly things start to change from just friends to more. But is it just more for Jody and an easy life for Seth to just settle in to.

I really enjoyed this book. It was an easy read. While there was some drama it wasn't enough to ruin the book. Life has drama so it was like real life.  I liked that Jody was so self reliant.  Seth was a bit much sometimes but after he let her in and she learned about his past, they could move forward.  I look forward to the next installment in this series.
