Size Matters ( A Perfect Fit #1)

Size Matters by Alison Bliss

The rules of (fake) engagement . . .

Leah Martin has spent her life trying to avoid temptation. But she's sick of low-fat snacks, counting calories, and her hyper-critical mom. Fortunately, her popular new bakery keeps her good and distracted. But there aren't enough éclairs in the world to distract Leah from the hotness that is Sam Cooper - or the fact that he just told her mother that they're engaged . . . which is a big, fat lie.

Sam sometime speaks before he thinks. So what started out as defending Leah's date-ability to her judgmental mother soon turned into having a fiancee! Now the plan is to keep up the fake engagement, stay "just friends," and make Leah's family loathe him enough to just call the whole thing off . But Sam has an insatiable sweet tooth, not only for Leah's decadent desserts but her decadent curves. Her full lips. Her bright green eyes. Yep, things aren't going quite according to plan. Now Sam has to convince Leah that he's for real . . . before their little lie turns into one big, sweet disaster.**

I saw this book on Netgalley and just didn't have the time to grab it and read it before the release, but I put it on my TBR (ever growing, never lessening) and scooped it up when it released.

Look I've said it before and I'll say it again, I like reading plus size heroine. I identify with them, and I love to see someone that is confident but still vulnerable. Leah is this, she knows she's overweight and honestly sometimes that causes you to have a chip on your shoulder. She's out with her bestie and not really looking for someone but doesn't put the idea out of her head. One man catches her attention.  He's gorgeous but she knows he's not into her. While it hurts her feelings, because seriously everyone wants to be liked, she doesn't get too upset over it. They settle into a weird quasi friendship. He keeps going to her bakery and then ends up helping her deliver a cake and tells someone that he's her fiancé. Someone that knows her family. Now what is she supposed to do? It has to be said that her mother is a bit of a case. She constantly puts down Leah for her weight and for not having a man. Because we all know a man is the answer to EVERYTHING!

Sam doesn't know why but when he's with Leah he just can't keep his mouth shut. He just got out of a crazy relationship and the last thing he needs is a new one.  He likes Leah but just wants to be by himself for a little bit.  Something about Leah though makes him want to help her. Make things better. All he seems to be doing though is sticking his foot in his mouth.

Alright, this book was laugh out loud funny. Seriously I laughed so much my husband asked me what I was reading and so I'd read him what ever passage I was currently reading. He never found it as funny as I did but he wasn't invested in this story. While Leah did have some hang ups from her weight she was sassy and really didn't wait on bated breath for Sam to be her knight.  Sam was sometimes a super jerk but guess what? MEN can be super jerks sometimes! It's just fact lol. I hope you check out this book, it was funny and sexy. Leave the author a review, it shows you care!!
