In this story we meet Cane Kirk, brother of Mallory. Cane has had a hard life since returning from combat, where he lost his arm. Feeling like he is a lesser man because his disability, he steers clear of women. Choosing instead to drink to the point of destruction. He's been in enough bar room brawls that you could almost set a clock by it. The only person that can talk him down is Bolinda Mays or Bodie as she's better known as.
Bodie has loved Cane ever since she figured out what love was, but he won't have anything to do with her romantically. Cane thinks Bodie is too young for him but what happens when he can't fight the attraction anymore.
I really enjoyed seeing them travel the road to their happy ending. It was a rocky road and this book was classic Diana Palmer. Check it out I'm sure you won't be disappointed!!!
