Blood Rites (The Dresden Files #6)

Harry Dresden, Chicago's only professional wizard, takes on a case as a favor to his friend Thomas-a vampire of dubious integrity-only to become the prime suspect in a series of ghastly murders.

What can I say. I fucking love these books!!! Dear God, help me with the awesomeness that Jim has.

Someone once told someone not to leave a mortal enemy alive. If not, I just told you. So, do you remember a certain Black Court Vampire that tried to kill Harry at Bianca's? Well, the bitch is back and she wants to kill Harry. Mavre does a damn good job at trying too, even causing a curious injury to Harry in the process.

Is this all the plot? NOPE! There is usually four to five plot lines weaving a much larger story. For instance, what the hell is up with Harry? I think he has some hidden powers. We have this moment in the book where so much shit happens, I was like OMG and stuff. No, not really, but I was shocked to learn about his mother and his half brother. Who is it? HAHAHAHA READ IT!

Next you say.... What does the White Court of Vampires, a porn business, a deadly curse and Harry all have in common? This folks, is the third plot line....

We meet Thomas again and see his family and how messed up they are. Also, I believe that they will play a role in future books. I want to tell you why......oh how I want to type it right now as I listen to Itunes....but I won't.

Finally, we learn more about the White Counsel. Of course they have a hit man and somehow it is tied to the Dresden line of wizards and such,

I want to know how Jim thinks of all this juicy deliciousness. Maybe he can share.....

sigh.....

Quotes....

“An errand is getting a tank of gas or picking up a carton of milk or something. It isnot getting chased by flying purple pyromaniac gorillas hurling incendiary poo!”

Jim Butcher, Blood Rites

“Jobs are a part of life. Maybe you've heard of the concept. It's called work? See, what happens is that you suffer through doing annoying and humiliating things until you get paid not enough money. Like those Japanese game shows, only without all the glory.”
Jim Butcher, Blood Rites

“Love is another kind of power, which shouldn't surprise you. Magic comes from emotions, among other things. And when two people are together, in that intimacy, when they really, selflessly love each other it changes them both. It lingers on in the energy of their lives, even when they are apart.”
Jim Butcher, Blood Rites
