Tattooed Hearts

Tattooed Hearts by Mika Jolie

Being someone's first love is unforgettable. Being their last is immeasurable.

Claire Peters should be on top of the world. She owns the radio waves and has a budding movie career. But her heart longs to be rooted. Ten years ago, she fled Martha's Vineyard to pursue her dream and to make something of herself. But there’s still a void. After a decade of running, she returns to the island hoping to find her happiness with the man she’s loved all her life.

When a tragic event shatters Dr. Forrest Desvareaux’ well-balance world, the Vineyard’s hometown good guy discovers everything in his life is based on lies. Angry and betrayed, he turns to Claire - the one woman who has indelibly marked him.

Is it possible to run back to the person who broke you? Forever linked, Forrest and Claire are an unending continuum. But she’s a wildflower and Forrest’s roots run deep on the Vineyard. Can they accept home is not a place but a feeling?**

I so enjoyed the first two books in this series so I knew I had to find out what the tension was with Forrest and Claire. You see them in the other books but its not enough to really find out whats going on. DUH! lol They had to have their own book.

Claire is taking time off, she has to decide if she's going to let the past go or try to make a go of it with Forrest.  She has loved him since she was 10 years old, but does love have an expiration date. She's a runner, ran when she turned 18 and has been running ever since.

Forrest has loved Claire longer than he should. He should let her go and find someone that actually wants to be in his life. Every time they try to talk, she runs. She's never home for more than a hot minute and she's made it clear she's not in it for the long haul. Now she's back and he can't deal with it, his life is in disarray. Tragedy has struck and it seems like the punches keep coming. Having her there isn't working for him.

I loved the first two books, this one was good but Claire and the way she thought got on my nerves a lot. Forrest acted like an adult but an eighty year old one. He's stuck in his ways and now that his life is up in the air he's digging in and not wanting to accept any kind of change. Life moves and goes on but things sometimes get stuck in the past. Leave the author a review. It shows you care!
