Goodreads: Magician's Land
Quentin Coldwater has been cast out of Fillory, the secret magical land of his childhood dreams. With nothing left to lose, he returns to where his story began, the Brakebills Preparatory College of Magic, but he can’t hide from his past, and it’s not long before it comes looking for him.
Along with Plum, a brilliant young undergraduate with a dark secret of her own, Quentin sets out on a crooked path through a magical demimonde of gray magic and desperate characters. But all roads lead back to Fillory, and his new life takes him to old haunts, like Antarctica, and to buried secrets and old friends he thought were lost forever. He uncovers the key to a sorcery masterwork, a spell that could create magical utopia, and a new Fillory--but casting it will set in motion a chain of events that will bring Earth and Fillory crashing together. To save them he will have to risk sacrificing everything.
This is a sad time! Why does this story have to end? We have been through so much. I am certain that the television show brought some attention to his series. Good point, I started right before I knew of the show.
Watching the current season, I found myself saying, that didn't happen! Well, folks, there is a lot that does.
Q starts to get some visions of a love long lost. There is a final quest and the destruction of Fillory to prevent. Oh, and the occasional gods showing up cause some needed distractions
Q is. professor at Breakebills and a student will cause the spiral that will lead us to many discoveries. Some we expect and many we will not Trust me, all of the thoughts that you have over how Fillory works and was discovered is WRONG!
The student's past and Q's future get entertained in a fast paced storyline that will conclude with an ending that leaves us wanting more, yet satisfied.
I will give you one hint...Alice...a god (or two)....
That's all!
Great Read
