On the Plus Side by Alison Bliss
Big girls don't cry. They go after what they want.
Thanks to her bangin' curves, Valerie Carmichael has always turned heads-with the exception of seriously sexy Logan Mathis. Just Valerie's luck that the object of her lust-filled affection is also best friends with her overprotective brother. But Valerie's determined to get Logan's attention . . . even if it means telling a teeny little lie to get a job at his new bar.
Logan can't remember a time when Valerie didn't secretly fuel all his hottest fantasies. Now the curvaceous she-devil is working behind his bar, tempting him every damn night. It's only when he finds Valerie's naughty things-to-do list that Logan decides to break every rule in the book-by making each red-hot deed a reality.
No one warned them that they were going to fall this hard. And no one warned them that sometimes the smallest secrets can have the biggest consequences.**
Thanks to NetGalley and Forever for the book in exchange for an honest review.
I loved the first book in this series. I was so excited that there was going to be a book with Valerie's story. It did not disappoint!
Valerie may be a curvy girl but she knows how to work them and she knows how to turn heads. That's all moot point right now since Logan Mathis is back in town. She has had a crush on him for it seems like forever. Now that he's back she can't avoid him forever, he's her brother's best friend. The first time she sees him again all the feelings she thought she had moved on from, come rushing back. He's just gotten better with age. Her brother's best friend has always treated her like a little sister, maybe she can get him to change his mind and see her as the woman she is now.
Logan is back home to open a bar and help his mom. He is glad to be back, he's missed his mom and his friend Brent, and other things. He has always thought that Valerie was a dream, she's beautiful and lush but she's untouchable. He's always known that she's had a crush on him but he couldn't go there, it goes against his friendship with Brent. It's harder to ignore her now, she's got a confidence that oozes out of her. But can he risk his friendship and the distraction of her for the reasons he's home in the first place?
I love when the heroine of the story is what society considers a plus size girl. In reality, Valerie is a regular sized woman, she may be a little chubby but she's got banging curves and knows that she's gorgeous. I loved watching the back and forth with Logan and Valerie. They've got a chemistry that leaps off the page. This is a fantastic read. I'd suggest you read the first book in this series so you know a different side of Valerie and so you don't get that story ruined for you! Leave the author some love in the form of a review! It shows you care!!
