Dark Witch

Dark Witch by Nora Roberts

With indifferent parents, Iona Sheehan grew up craving devotion and acceptance. From her maternal grandmother, she learned where to find both: a land of lush forests, dazzling lakes, and centuries-old legends.

Ireland.

County Mayo, to be exact. Where her ancestors’ blood and magic have flowed through generations—and where her destiny awaits.

Iona arrives in Ireland with nothing but her Nan’s directions, an unfailingly optimistic attitude, and an innate talent with horses. Not far from the luxurious castle where she is spending a week, she finds her cousins, Branna and Connor O’Dwyer. And since family is family, they invite her into their home and their lives.

When Iona lands a job at the local stables, she meets the owner, Boyle McGrath. Cowboy, pirate, wild tribal horsemen, he’s three of her biggest fantasy weaknesses all in one big, bold package.

Iona realizes that here she can make a home for herself—and live her life as she wants, even if that means falling head over heels for Boyle. But nothing is as it seems. An ancient evil has wound its way around Iona’s family tree and must be defeated. Family and friends will fight with each other and for each other to keep the promise of hope—and love—alive…**

I really don't even know where to start with this book. I just was absorbed with in the first few pages. You get to see the past first. You read all about the first Dark Witch, her sacrifices and her trials. Iona moves to Ireland because its where her people are from. Her grandmother has told her all the stories and she has to see for herself if that's where she's meant to be.  Once there she just feels like shes home. After she checks in to her hotel she goes and finds her family. Her cousins Branna and Connor live there and all at once she's home.  Oh and no big deal but she's a witch, just like Branna and Connor, she's an O'Dwyer.

Everyone knows who the O'Dwyers are. It's just another fact, they're witches.

Iona starts working at the stables that are owned by Fin and ran by Boyle.  Iona is in her element working with horses. She just gets them and they get her. It's her connection to the horses and the O'Dwyers that they've been waiting on. Shes the third. The cousins have been waiting to see if there was a third coming, signalling that it's time for the battle. Evil is upon them and it'll take all the powers they have to fight it.

Boyle is drawn to Iona but he feels like maybe she spelled him, she had to of used magick on him. Why else would he have fallen so fast for her.

Oh my gosh I just could go on and on about this book. So much MORE that is going on. You've got to pick it up and read it. Nora Roberts did what she does best, weaving a tale that felt like it was on a movie screen in my head. I seriously can't wait for the other two books, Connors and Brannas stories.
