Opposition (Lux #5)

Opposition by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Katy knows the world changed the night the Luxen came.

She can't believe Daemon welcomed his race or stood by as his kind threatened to obliterate every last human and hybrid on Earth. But the lines between good and bad have blurred, and love has become an emotion that could destroy her—could destroy them all.

Daemon will do anything to save those he loves, even if it means betrayal.

They must team with an unlikely enemy if there is any chance of surviving the invasion. But when it quickly becomes impossible to tell friend from foe, and the world is crumbling around them, they may lose everything— even what they cherish most—to ensure the survival of their friends…and mankind.

War has come to Earth. And no matter the outcome, the future will never be the same for those left standing.

J's Review

The ending of a series is so bittersweet. We find ourselves yearning for an ending but a beginning at the same time. Kat finds herself with the Origins trying to figure out where Daemon and family have gone. The Lux have invaded, just like the DOD said. Or did they? I think there is more to this story.

I have to say that this book tied up all the loose ends very nicely. Several of the characters that we wanted to get their just due in the prior books, get it here. There are several nice surprises that no one expects.

To save the world, Katy and crew must align with some of the worst enemies they have ever know.

The sexy meter in this book still goes high! If only, Jennifer would write and adult version of these books. Imagine what would happen to the public at large.

Mind blown!

See you next time,

J

Amanda's Review

What a wild ride this series has been. I loved every second of it.

This is it. They have to finish things so they can try to go back to some sort of normalcy. Dee is still with the other side and the unthinkable is what they'll have to do in order to fight the Luxen, teaming up with the Arum.

Daemon is still funny, smug and sexy. Katy is still tough and smart. I love that Archer was with them through all of this. Dee and Katy have a battle and make Katy sized holes in walls. Katy is able to get through to Dee.

Gah! So much goes on in this book. You should really go and check it out.  Loved it so much. I haven't inhaled a series of books like I did these since I read Twilight a few years ago. I am so glad I waited to read these after it was complete.
