Fire Me Up

Fire Me Up by Kimberly Kincaid

If You Can’t Stand The Heat…

Teagan O’Malley can handle a crisis. She’s a paramedic, it’s her job. But she never expected to land in the kitchen of her father’s pub, with no notice, no cash, and no room for error. The kitchen is not her favorite place. Lucky for her, she just scraped a bad-boy chef off the pavement after a motorcycle accident—and something about him says he can turn up the heat in more ways than one.

Adrian Holt has had a rough few years, and he’s not eager to get tangled up in anything more complicated than a good risotto. But with a broken arm and a head full of bad memories, he needs a challenge to keep him sane. Teagan’s dare-me attitude and smoldering mess of a bar are just what the doctor ordered. And the two of them together might cook up some even better medicine…

Thank you to Kensington and Netgalley for the book in exchange for an honest review.

I loved going back to Pine Mountain, the atmosphere is awesome and the people friendly.

Teagan is steady, she knows what to do in a crisis and she's calm doing so. When she gets the call about an accident, motorcycle v. minivan, she does what shes trained to do and then she meets the guy from the motorcycle. He's surly and doesn't want to cooperate at all. She's not taking no for an answer though and he finally relents.  In addition to being a paramedic shes also helps out her dad at the pub he owns but something isn't right. She needs to get to the bottom of it and fast. First she has to find a cook or else there won't be anything to get to the bottom of.

Adrian moved to Pine Mountain to help his friend and boss get her new restaurant up and going. He only has four months left on his probation and this accident he was involved in could be detrimental to that. His parole officer isn't the nicest guy in the world and has been looking for an excuse from the beginning to put him back behind bars. With his injuries he can't work in the kitchen so Carly (his boss) puts him on leave. He wasn't expecting that, he thought he'd would be able to supervise but she wants him to rest and heal. Adrian isn't one for resting, so when he goes to this little pub and sees that they need help he's there. It doesn't hurt that the paramedic that took care of him is there and makes him feel things he doesn't want to be feeling.

Together they work on getting her fathers pub back on its feet, not without some difficulties. Her father has been diagnosed with diabetes and he's also in some financial trouble. Adrian helps Teagan learn all she needs to know about running and working in a kitchen and Teagan teaches Adrian to let go a little and let people in. Not everyone is out to get him.

I really love this series. I especially enjoy getting to see people from the other books. It's like visiting old friends. Adrian is tough but he loves the people he is close to and would do anything to see them happy. Fantastic book that I couldn't put down and I had a super hard time writing this review. Check out this series, I know you'll love it!
