The Goal

The Goal by Elle Kennedy

She’s good at achieving her goals…

College senior Sabrina James has her whole future planned out: graduate from college, kick butt in law school, and land a high-paying job at a cutthroat firm. Her path to escaping her shameful past certainly doesn’t include a gorgeous hockey player who believes in love at first sight. One night of sizzling heat and surprising tenderness is all she’s willing to give John Tucker, but sometimes, one night is all it takes for your entire life to change.

But the game just got a whole lot more complicated

Tucker believes being a team player is as important as being the star. On the ice, he’s fine staying out of the spotlight, but when it comes to becoming a daddy at the age of twenty-two, he refuses to be a bench warmer. It doesn’t hurt that the soon-to-be mother of his child is beautiful, whip-smart, and keeps him on his toes. The problem is, Sabrina’s heart is locked up tight, and the fiery brunette is too stubborn to accept his help. If he wants a life with the woman of his dreams, he’ll have to convince her that some goals can only be made with an assist.**

I LOVED all of the books before this one in this series. I was super excited to read Tucker's story as well. Mostly because he was quiet in the other books and because everyone hate Sabrina. I was curious how the author would make us see her good side. I guess we needed to see that she had more than the one side.

Sabrina works her ass off, she wants to get out of the life she has and she knows that being a lawyer is her ticket out. Hard work means no boyfriends, just one night stands and she has a thing for athletes. Except hockey players, Dean Di Laurentis ruined her for all hockey players. Her friends drag her to a bar that is a notorious hockey player hang out and when she sees Tuck across the room she's smitten. And by smitten I mean she wants to have sex with him. Remember that's all she has time for and its not a nightly thing. Even though he's a hockey player and one of Deans friends she hooks up with him and it's the best she's had. She feels a little attached to him, he's nice and considerate. Smart and so hot she can't stand it. She doesn't want to get attached to him though, it ends in heartache.

Tucker just wants to be with Sabrina anyway he can. He likes just hanging out with her. Sure her body is out of this world and when they're together it blows his mind. She doesn't want more though so he has to respect that. He's patient and he feels like what they have is worth it. When she finally comes around its nice and easy but he has to hide it from his friends. They hate her because of Dean.  How serious can it get though because after graduation he's going home to Texas, or will something come up that changes all of that and not necessarily for the bad.

This book was so good. It is the fourth book in a series so you should read the others and see how things get to where they are in this one. I mean its not a hardship to read books about hot hockey players. AND they are so freaking hot. Another thing the author writes them as normal guys, sure they have ego's because really what guy doesn't? I loved getting to meet Sabrina and learn about her and not the skewed version that we get in other books.  Check out the books and let the author know your thoughts in a review. It shows you care!
