Not Quite a Scot by Janice Maynard
McKenzie Taylor is high maintenance when it comes to fashion, but when it comes to travel, the socialite prefers privacy to parties, and her own space to hotels. After she and her friends arrive in Scotland and split up to pursue their own adventures, she rents a small cottage on the Isle of. On day two, she crashes her rental car. But a hero emerges from the mist to rescue her. He’s handsome, earthy, funny, and before long is making her feel desirable, not mention desirous. There’s just one problem: McKenzie’s Highland dreamboat is a motorcycle ridingAmerican.
Finley Craig knows his cute new tourist friend is stubbornly set on falling for a Scotsman. But he’s just as set on her falling for him. So he plans to give her a taste of what she thinks she wants. Because Finley suspects McKenzie isn’t as shallow as she appears. And in the process of surrounding her with his hand-picked suitors, she may just decide that American-made is best—especially when she and Finley are rained in together over one long, delicious, and very adventurous weekend…**
Thanks to Net Galley and Lyrical Shine for the book in exchange for a honest review.
I was looking forward to McKenzie's story after reading Hayley and Willow's stories. I wanted Mac to get her happily ever after! This was a great story and I wasn't disappointed at all.
McKenzie is self assure, she knows who she is. She was raised going to the best of the best of things and is used to having nice things. This trip she wanted to have with her best friends. She wanted to have a holiday and maybe they could find their true loves. If not then its a trip of a lifetime and they experienced the things they were meant to have.
Finley is content in his life. He likes building his super expensive motorcycles for the rich and doesn't need anyone permanently in his life but then a blond socialite plows her way into his life and he does everything he can to avoid wanting to make her his. Life hasn't been kind to him in the romance department and she's looking for her very own Outlander.
These two dance around their attraction to each other until they can't fight it anymore. Yes she was looking for her own fantasy but what she found was better than anything she could have imagined. She knew what was going on though so she takes what he gives and doesn't ask for more. McKenzie can move on from Finley, even if it breaks her apart.
Loved this series. I'm sad that it's over. It was a great set of books and if you love and want the idea of taking a Scottish vacation to find your very own Jamie Fraiser then you want to read this series! Leave the author love in the form of a review!!
