Infinity (Chronicles of Nick #1)

At fourteen, Nick Gautier thinks he knows everything about the world around him. Streetwise, tough and savvy, his quick sarcasm is the stuff of legends. . .until the night when his best friends try to kill him. Saved by a mysterious warrior who has more fighting skills than Chuck Norris, Nick is sucked into the realm of the Dark-Hunters: immortal vampire slayers who risk everything to save humanity.

Nick quickly learns that the human world is only a veil for a much larger and more dangerous one: a world where the captain of the football team is a werewolf and the girl he has a crush on goes out at night to stake the undead.

But before he can even learn the rules of this new world, his fellow students are turning into flesh eating zombies. And he's next on the menu.

As if starting high school isn't hard enough. . .now Nick has to hide his new friends from his mom, his chainsaw from the principal, and keep the zombies and the demon Simi from eating his brains, all without getting grounded or suspended. How in the world is he supposed to do that?

I have seen this series on the book shelves for a long time. I fought the urge, thinking that the author wrote girly books and I didn't need to read them. Yes, I am the same man that read slash novels and has read every BDB book, so can someone say hypocrite lol!

I decided to take a break from the Artemis Fowl books and try this series and boy I was happy I did. Within the first few pages I knew that there I knew that Sherrilyn is an amazing author and I was going to have to read the entire damn series.

Let me start by telling you all the ways I love this pretense.

1. Greek Gods....MORE PLEASE
2. Ancient Demons...YESSSSSSSSSS...I love Simi!
3. Vampires...OF COURSE
4. Crazy sidekicks Bubba and Mark DUH!
5. Zombies...Ok, somewhat.
6. Hormonal teenage boy, thinking with his penis instead of head...All men have been there.
7. Whit that will make you laugh...Wish I had this trait.

Nick, a fourteen year old boy that had a secret that even he didn't know. He could destroy mankind. His powers are the most powerful tool in the universe. Forces of good and evil will converge on him, each trying to cause him to turn to the dark side.

Nick's father is a murderer and in prison and his mother is a stripper in New Orleans, trying to make enough money just to survive. Nick's life is one of constant torment and poverty. Everyone looked at him like a leach and wanted him to vanish. The book starts out with a fight breaking out while Nick tries to protect his mother's honor.

One decision is all it took for Nick's life to change forever. Instead of doing the wrong thing, Nick makes the right decision and this is when he meets Kyrian, a Dark Hunter that plays a critical role in Nick's future.

This decision Nick made causes a set of unexpected events that escalates Nick's powers to progress quicker  than they were supposed to. This causes a man named Ambrose to finally reach out to Nick. Little did Nick know, this man is him, only in his future self. Ambrose is determined to change the future, before he fulfills his destiny.

This story is one that really shows the author's brilliance. The story that has developed has caused me to quickly add the rest of the series to my goodreads page.....Dear lord....Great book!

Until Next time,
