The Time Paradox (Artemis Fowl #6)

After disappearing for three years, Artemis Fowl has returned to a life different from the one he left. Now he's a big brother, and spends his days teaching his twin siblings the important things in life, such as how to properly summon a waiter at a French restaurant.

But when Artemis Fowl's mother contracts a life-threatening illness, his world is turned upside down. The only hope for a cure lies in the brain fluid of the silky sifaka lemur. Unfortunately, the animal is extinct due to a heartless bargain Artemis himself made as a younger boy.

Though the odds are stacked against him, Artemis is not willing to give up. With the help of his fairy friends, the young genius travels back in time to save the lemur and bring it back to the present. But to do so, Artemis will have to defeat a maniacal poacher, who has set his sights on new prey: Holly Short.

The rules of time travel are far from simple, but to save his mother, Artemis will have to break them all.and outsmart his most cunning adversary yet: Artemis Fowl, age ten.

Okay, so here we have the 6th book in the Artemis Fowl series. I am getting a little sad that my adventure in the mind of this teenage genius is almost over. However, we cannot forget that this was probably the best of the series. I am still sitting here trying to digest the plot that Eoin wove here. Generally, with a YA book, adults can easily digest the story and figure out the general ending. This time, I was shocked.

The story starts simple enough. Artemis stole a little magic at the end of the last book. Here, we quickly find out what happens when he tries to use it when we find his mother on her death bed.

We are thrown into an adventure of a time adventure. We go back in time, where like always, the plan is always simpler in Artemis' mind. The road to the cure is harder than anyone can imagine.

Let's see, here is what you can expect.

1. Mulch...yep he is back and eight years younger.
2. Holly is a teenager when she goes back, and the prepubescent hormones between the two young adventurers lead us down an interesting road.
3. A lie that could destroy everything.
4. A lemur....the last one left is the cure to everything.
5. Opal Kobi....Yes the bitchy pixie is back.. Folks, the plan she devises this time is worth it. I never saw where it was going until it was too late.
6. Section eight and visit from Commander Root and a teary goodbye....very emotional.
7. Number 1 and his powers WOW!

I could go on and on...Read it and you will not be disappointed....

Until Next time,
