The Masseuse by Sierra Kincade
Anna Rossi lives by one simple rule: don’t get attached, don’t get hurt. But Alec Flynn doesn’t play by the rules…
Anna never takes on a massage client without screening him first, but the paycheck offered by billionaire Maxim Stein is too good to turn down. Stein is the richest man she’s ever laid her hands on, and despite the risks, she trusts that she can take care of herself. After all, she’s handled difficult clients in the past. What she isn’t prepared for is getting caught in a compromising situation by Maxim’s tall, dark, and gorgeous bodyguard—or the desperate desires he awakens in her…
Alec is dangerous. The mysterious, hard-bodied man is completely irresistible and won’t be refused, no matter what walls Anna puts up to protect herself. But as Anna falls fast for his careful ministrations and mind-blowing skills, she begins to realize that giving herself over to a man with so many secrets isn’t just putting her heart at risk—it’s endangering her life…**
I'm just going to say this now, if I start a review with OMG this book was so good; chances are Corie told me to read it and I hesitated and then promptly caved.
So lets get down to it. Anna doesn't stay in one place to long. She doesn't do attachments, except for her best friend, Amy. Amy is the reason Anna moved to Florida. She got Anna job at the salon she worked at. This was as settled as Anna got. She would call her dad and talk to him regularly and she did date but she did not under any circumstances advance past casual dating. She worked hard as a masseuse, not only at the salon but outside of it too. She had clients that couldn't or didn't want to come to her, so they paid her to come to them. Maxim Stein is one such client, he's super rich and is used to having things done his way. Usually she has a check done on home clients but he's offering a great deal of money, money she could use to fly home to see her dad. So she goes to his house and he leaves her waiting forever. When she decides to go look and see if something is holding him she sees him in a compromising position. Trying to get out of the room unseen she bumps into a guy. Hot guy but he accuses her of trying to steal something or looking for something.
Alec, the hot guy, wants to take her out and she agrees and then he stands her up. His job is odd, hes security but then again hes more. She doesn't know what but he's hiding something. Can she trust him when he says he's not hiding anything. She's a cops daughter and her gut tells her she can't trust him. Then all hell breaks loose and the FBI becomes involved. Alec tells her everything and then tells her he's got to go away for three months.
I really got sucked into this book. It was easy to just get lost in the story. Anna and Alec's lust was palpable. It's almost as if the heat from the two of them raised off the pages. Alec is dangerous and I think that makes him even more hot. He would do ANYTHING to make sure Anna is safe and he does. He turns his back on everything he's known for most of his life because he wants to be a man worthy of her. There relationship is explosive, they fight and then they make up just as hard. I thought Anna was a tough girl and then she would completely melt for Alec and be submissive almost. It was a great book and one I would say you need in your life. Read it and then leave the love for the author in a review!!
