Untamed by Diana Palmer
Stanton Rourke lives life on the edge. The steely South African mercenary is dangerous in every way…especially to Clarisse Carrington's heart.
She and Rourke were playmates as children, but she's not the innocent girl he once knew. When tragedy robbed Clarisse of her entire family, her life was changed forever. Besides, she's a grown woman now, and there are secrets that hold her back from succumbing to her pursuer.
As she struggles to keep her distance, sparks as hot as a Texas summer fly between them. But danger is following Clarisse, leaving her no choice but to rely on Rourke, even as the old wounds lying dormant between them flare up again…**
Back to the world that Diana Palmer has created full of men of power and mystery that love woman of high moral values. It was like coming home to a comforting place. Palmer has a way that pulls me in and keeps me hooked.
We met Rourke and Clarisse (Tat) in another story, now it's their turn to find the love they deserve.
Clarisse has loved Stanton Rourke for as long as she can remember and she thought she would get her chance during Christmas when she was 17. Rourke came to see her family and things got heated between them. She was floating on cloud nine. Then everything came crashing down. He left and from then on he was horrible to her. He said whatever he could to get her to hate him. On the surface she tried hard to hate him but deep in her heart she still loved him.
Rourke loves Tat, he has for as long as he can remember but he can't be with her. He was told that she could possibly be blood family. That put a stop to all he could ever have hoped for them. When he kissed her that Christmas, he was thinking long term, he wanted to marry her and have babies with her. Now he knows the truth he'll stop at nothing to prove that he loves her.
Rourke goes out on one last mission and comes back a different man. Not the one she had been able to love the last few weeks. She has to move on and deal with a life without him.
Another hit, I loved their story and watching them fight all odds to get back to each other. I love seeing all the old characters from stories in the past. It really does feel like you're going home again. Leave some love for the author in the form of a review!
