Thanks to Harlequin and Netgalley for the book in exchange for an honest review.

I've been reading Christine Rimmer's books for at least 15 years. I found one of the Bravo books by accident and was hooked. I saw this one on NetGalley and couldn't wait to read it.

This is the story of Quinn Bravo. I don't really remember a mention of him but I'm sure that he has been, there are so many Bravo's I lose count! Anyway Quinn has moved back home to Justice Creek and he's a success. He is a championship fighter, now retired. He lives with his daughter and his coach/friend, Manny. He's noticed, up the hill from his house, in some condo's lives Chloe Winchester. He always had a thing for her but she was the good girl, and he was one of those Bastard Bravos. One night when they're both on their back decks, Chloe invites him up to her home. It's all he needs.

Chloe has always been the good girl. She's done what she thought she needed to do to make her mother happy. She did well in school, she dated the right boys and even married someone her mother thought would be good for her. Turns out he was the worst possible thing for her. He was mentally and physically abusive, he also cheated on her.  The cheating was the last straw so she divorced him and moved back to Justice Creek and started a design studio. Inviting Quinn up to her condo was a spur of the moment thing but it led to so much more. A life she never thought she'd have and couldn't dream of wanting.

Quinn is intense and he knows what he wants. I really liked that the guy in this book was the pursuer, he didn't let grass grow under his feet. He had her back and wanted to protect her in everything. Chloe was learning how to be an independent person, she had leaned on her parents and then her husband and so she wanted to stand on her own but it was hard to do that. Quinn was so sturdy she caught herself wanting to lean in the odd times and now when she should've. That alone made me want to shake her a few times. The book was fast and had just enough angst to keep me wanting to read and only read. Let me know what you think! Leave the author love in the form of a review!
