Fire Brand by Diana Palmer
Gaby Cane was always a bit afraid of her attraction to Bowie McCayde. Even when she was fifteen and Bowie's family took her in, she had sensed his simmering resentment. Now ten years later, she's an aspiring journalist who can hold her own with any man professionally, the dark shadows of years gone by far behind her. Then Bowie strides back into her life—only this time, he needs her, and the pull of loyalty to his family is too strong to ignore.
When Bowie asked Gaby to help save his family's Arizona ranch, he never expected the girl he once knew to return transformed into a stunning, successful woman. As they work together, Bowie is shocked to find that her innocence and beauty stir a hunger he can't deny. But the rogue rancher can sense something holding her back, and he's determined to uncover the terrible secret Gaby is fighting to keep hidden…**
Thanks to Harlequin and Netgalley for the book in exchange for a honest review.
I have been reading Diana Palmer for as long as I've been reading romance novels. Her books are always a comfort, they follow a formula, older man plus younger woman. The man fights the attraction and in the end they stop fighting the attraction and let love flow. This book is no exception and I love it. I love knowing that love will win.
This story is about Gaby and Bowie, his parents took in Gaby and treated her like a daughter. It bothered Bowie at first but now he's fascinated with her. His mother has decided that she's bringing home a man from her cruise and he's not having it. He begs Gaby to go to Casa Rios (family home) and keep an eye on them.
I loved this book. Easy to read, I loved the John Wayne movie references. Diana Palmer doesn't disappoint with her books. They're like coming home. Do you read her novels? What's your favorite? Leave her love in the for the author in the form of a review!
