Charlie Reynolds can outrun, outscore, and outwit every boy she knows. But when it comes to being a girl, Charlie doesn't know the first thing about anything. So when she starts working at a chichi boutique to pay off a speeding ticket, she finds herself in a strange new world. To cope with the stress of her new reality, Charlie takes to spending nights chatting with her neighbor Braden through the fence between their yards. As she grows to depend on their nightly Fence Chats, she realizes she's got a bigger problem than speeding tickets-she's falling for Braden. She knows what it means to go for the win, but if spilling her secret means losing him for good, the stakes just got too high.
Fun, original, and endearing, On the Fence is a romantic comedy about finding yourself and finding love where you least expect.
Charlie has had to be one of the boys. She has four brothers plus the guy next door to keep up with. She likes playing sports, loves it even. After another speeding ticket her dad makes her get a job and the only only one she can find is in a boutique. She doesn't know anything about being girly. Her boss lets her get clothes on an advance against her check and offers her extra money to be the model for a line of make-up. What she finds after a while is she doesn't mind being a little bit girly. She also starts talking with the next door neighbor Braden through the fence nightly.
Even though boys start paying attention to her she realizes that her feelings toward Braden are more than friendly or even brotherly, and she doesn't know how to process it. So many other things are going on with Charlie, questions she has about her mother and why she has nightmares. This book was so good. I couldn't put it down. I read it so fast I regretted it because it was gone but I was happy because I enjoyed it so much. Run, don't walk and get this book. It was so so good and it's one I'll get for my bookshelves. Don't forget to leave the author love in the form of a review!!
