Swan Point by Sherryl Woods
Gabe Franklin, back in town to make amends for past mistakes, has no intention of settling down, but Adelia's proving irresistible. Cheered on by their friends, "the Sweet Magnolias," Gabe is bringing long-absent passion and laughter into Adelia's life. To his surprise and hers sometimes a rolling stone is just what it takes to build the rock-solid foundation of a family.
I received this book from Netgally in exchange for an honest review.
We met Adelia a couple of books that was focused on her brother, Elliot and his relationship with Karen. She was a judgmental person about Karen, who was divorced and a in the Cruz family that was a big no-no. Now Adelia is in the same situation and her own sisters look down their noses at her. She knows she did the right thing though because her ex flaunted his affairs around town and her children found out about it. She knew she had to do something about her marriage and so she divorced the asshole ex and bought a house in the neighborhood Swan Point, in Serenity. She's thriving on being in charge of her own life. Sure its hard but its all hers!
Gabe moved back to Serenity in order to show people that he wasn't the same kid that left all those years ago. Circumstance caused the way he acted when he was younger. What kid isn't going to take up for their mom? Gabe is immediately attracted to Adelia but he's not sticking around so he's not going to promise her anything. He starts helping her with her old house, getting things to where they aren't falling down around her and the kids. What he doesn't realize is the whole time he's around her and her kids, he feels more and more at home.
Watching Adelia and Gabe dance around each other's attraction and the Magnolia's try to scheme and push the two together. I loved being back in Serenity, its like being home again. I'm sure you know what I mean if you read this series from Sherryl Woods. I would seriously read her grocery list. Check it out!!
