Make It Last

Make It Last by Megan Erickson

After graduating from Bowler University, the last place Cam Ruiz ever expected to find himself is his hometown. A bad job as a bouncer and worry over his mom’s health make living in Paradise anything but. There’s only one thing that can make his return any harder—running into the only girl he’s ever loved.

Tate Ellison made a mistake when she was eighteen, one that cost her the best thing she’s ever had. She’s always hoped the regret of losing Cam would fade over time. Too bad it’s only grown. She took comfort in the fact she’d never have to face him again, so his presence in Paradise throws her for a loop.

The pull between them is instant and when the truth of what happened years ago tumbles out, they share a mind-blowing kiss...which leads to more. But the past has a way of repeating itself. When all the cards are on the table, Cam and Tate must decide what they are willing to do to make it last.**

Aww the last one.. I didn't see much of Cam in the other books. He was around but it was just in small spurts. We knew some of his circumstances and part of his background but not a whole lot of his story.

Cam never wanted to go back to his hometown. He left for basic and his girlfriend cheated on him, why would he want to come back. His mom needs him though, her health is not so good and he is her only family, so he does what he has to for his family. He never expected that Tate would still be there. Why hadn't she left? Why couldn't he be over her. He should hate her and never want to talk to her again but when he sees her outside the diner she worked at when they were younger and notices she still works there he's curious. Talking to her and seeing her all the time brings all the feelings he thought he repressed back to the surface.

Tate thought she wouldn't see Cam in Paradise again. She sacrificed so that he wouldn't feel like he was cheated out of a life, one he deserved. When things fell apart after Cam left she knew she was going to do anything she could to prevent Cam from being stuck in Paradise, and she did. Tate never stopped loving Cam, so it was only natural that when she saw him back in town she was drawn to him all over again. Knowing that he hated her helped keep her head about her.

When Cam finally finds out all the truths that were kept from him he sees that things aren't always black and white. Shit happens, life and love is messy. Even though Cam wants to he can't hate Tate. He's still there when she needs him and he even ignores his mother when she is a bitch about Tate. I have to say I loved this one a little bit more than the others just because I am a sucker for a love story that spans time and goes through trials then comes back on top. Cam and Tate are just awesome. I loved this story and I think you'll love it too. Leave the author some love in the form of a review!
