Wind Chime Cafe by Sophie Moss
When single mother, Annie Malone, purchases a quirky Main Street café on Heron Island, she thinks she's finally turned her dream of opening her own restaurant into a reality. Hearing rumors that a developer is about to build a five-star resort on the sleepy Chesapeake Bay island, she plans to transform the café into a premier upscale bistro. But Navy SEAL, Will Dozier, has no intention of selling his grandparents' property to a developer. Back on Heron Island for the first time in ten years and secretly struggling with PTSD, Will decides that a fling with the new girl is the perfect way to help him "get his head straight." The last thing Will expects is to fall in love...with his hometown and with Annie. But Will's life and career are in San Diego with the SEALs. Can Annie's love and the healing magic of the island be enough to convince him to stay?**
Every mom wants what's best for their kids. Annie Malone just wants to settle down in a quiet town and open her own restaurant. It just so happens that her daughter needs the escape and she finds the perfect space on Heron Island. She knows that if the rumors prove to be true than the resort will boost the possibility of her making it really work. All that needs to happen is the inn; that isn't open and hasn't been for sometimes, needs to be sold to the developer. Sadly the guy that owns it now isn't selling. She has to make Will Dozier see that its for the best of everyone.
Will didn't want to be back on Heron Island but he couldn't let his grandparents pride and joy, the inn, be sold to a developer. He could see the place he grew up turned in to a tourist monstrosity, that ended up stripping the island of land and wild life. He's been a mess since one of his op's went south. All he needs is some fun with a woman to get his mind back on track and he's set his sights on Annie. Her having a daughter makes things tough, but there is something about her that makes his blood sing. She tells him its not gonna happen, and that he needs to get some help for his PSTD, she recognizes the signs.
Will and Annie fight the attraction but not too hard. I really enjoyed this sweet story. Taylor, Annie's daughter, was adorable and her issues were enough to break your heart right in two. If you're looking for something that's easy to read and just downright cute this is it. The island makes you feel like you're apart of the family. I'm looking forward to reading the next one. Becca, Taylor's teacher and Colin, Will's former teammate are the focus in that one! Leave the author love in the form of a review!
