Wind Chime Wedding

Wind Chime Wedding by Sophie Moss

Second grade teacher, Becca Haddaway, is weeks away from walking down the aisle with her high school sweetheart when she learns that the Heron Island Elementary School is about to be shut down. In the midst of a whirlwind of wedding planning, she launches into a last-ditch effort to save it. But the one man who can help her is determined to make her question every decision she has ever made—including the man she’s about to marry.

Former Navy SEAL and son of the current Maryland governor, Colin Foley, is finally starting to feel whole again after losing his leg on a career-ending deployment in Afghanistan. After struggling for months to figure out what to do with his post-military life, he’s found a new mission—opening a rehab center for wounded veterans on the peaceful Chesapeake Bay island. All he needs now is a woman to share his new life with…and he knows exactly who he wants. With a little help from the island’s magical wind chimes, can Colin convince Becca to change her mind before it’s too late?**

Becca  Haddaway is a second grade teacher on Heron Island. She loves her students and she loves the people she lives around. Her wedding is fast approaching and she can't figure out what's off but something is. She's learned that her school is on the chopping block. They're going to close it down unless she can find someway to stop it. Maybe Colin, the business partner of Will Doizer, and also the son of the Governor of Maryland can help. She feels more with Colin then she does with Tom, her fiance and it scares her.

Colin wants to help the veterans that he's seen while he works to get his life back on track. He's one of the lucky ones, sure he lost his leg but there are guys that can't even leave their houses. When he got back he was engaged, but she couldn't be with a one legged man. The island feels like home to him, he loves it there and it'd be perfect to bring those veterans that need the extra help to. They could learn how to start living life again, hopefully. He's drawn to Becca, he knows shes engaged but something about her pulls him and he fights it hard because he won't break up a happy relationship. He's also not sure someone could love him not whole.

The island feels like coming home. Everyone is so friendly and its like a big family. The light the author sheds on the issues veterans face is so awesome. I'm so glad that it was voiced and not downplayed. Life is different for the men and women that return home injured or not. I look forward to the next book. I've found a new favorite series. Leave the author love in the form of a review!
