Physical Distraction by Sierra Hill
Sloane Fitzgerald was living the perfect, California-girl life. Engaged to her college boyfriend, working her dream job, and settling into her new home where she’d planned on living happily ever after. It was storybook perfect.
But life isn’t a fairytale.
Sloane’s world is suddenly rocked to the core with a devastating discovery. Needing both time away, and a distraction from her misery, Sloane heads to Boston to take over her late uncle’s failing bar.
Dylan Hemmons lives a charmed bachelor’s existence.
After serving in the Marines, Dylan returns home to the South Boston neighborhood where he grew up. While working for his father’s company has its perks, Dylan realizes his career passions lay elsewhere.
Dylan aspires for more.
He had no idea it would be in the form of a beauty from California. As their lives intersect, Sloane and Dylan find that the electricity between them is more than they can resist.
But Sloane’s past comes knocking on her door. If exposed, the secret she carries could destroy both her teaching career and what they have together.
Will Dylan believe in Sloane, and stand by her when the truth comes out? Or will this fling be over before it begins, and turn out to be just a physical distraction for them both?**
Thanks to the author for gifting me with a copy of the book in exchange for a honest review.
It took me a while to read this one, but not because it wasn't good. I was sick and couldn't read. If you've ever had vertigo you will know what I'm talking about. I had a severe bout of it last week and I'm just now feeling normal again. Anyway this book was so good!!
Sloane has had a rough time of things lately. Her life was flipped upside down when she found out her fiance had been cheating on her. There's more to the story but I don't want to give away too much. Lets just say its bad and devastating. With all that was going on she knew that she needed to get away and the bar her uncle left her when he died was the perfect place since it was on the other side of the country. Meeting Dylan was the icing on the cake. He was hot and fun, the best distraction she could have gotten.
Dylan likes working with his dad, its just not his dream job but right now its what his life is. His meeting Sloane opens a whole world to him. He didn't realize it until then that he was basically existing. He never has acting like this with a woman and it should scare him but he's not too worried about it. He's determined to just enjoy her while she's here.
Nothing ever goes to plan though, both wanting to just live in the moment but both get caught up in feelings and urges. I really enjoyed that while Dylan was apprehensive he didn't run away. Sure he had moments of doubt and would stay away but he could never stay away long. Sloane was a little timid sometimes but when it counted she stood strong. This was a great book. Enough sexy times to make it hot but not too many to make it redundant. Have you read it? Let me know what you think and leave the author love in the form of a review!!
