Sweet Little Lies by Jill Shalvis
As captain of a San Francisco Bay tour boat, Pru can handle rough seas—the hard part is life on dry land. Pru loves her new apartment and her neighbors; problem is, she’s in danger of stumbling into love with Mr. Right for Anybody But Her.
Fall for him—hard . . .
Pub owner Finn O’Riley is six-foot-plus of hard-working hottie who always makes time for his friends. When Pru becomes one of them, she discovers how amazing it feels to be on the receiving end of that deep green gaze. But when a freak accident involving darts (don’t ask) leads to shirtless first aid, things rush way past the friend zone. Fast.
And then tell him the truth.
Pru only wants Finn to be happy; it’s what she wishes for at the historic fountain that’s supposed to grant her heart’s desire. But wanting him for herself is a different story—because Pru’s been keeping a secret that could change everything. . . .**
I love Jill Shalvis and this one was no exception. It's what we all love about her writing.
Pru feels guilty for reasons that aren't her fault. I'm not going to tell you what for because you'll find out in the book. Her last thing she wants to do is make sure that Finn is happy. He had to give up a lot when his dad died a few years ago and he just doesn't have fun because he's responsible. She's determined to get him to loosen up and have fun and maybe even find love. The only problem is that she feels things with him. She feels like she's not supposed to have that life. She's doesn't want to get attached to him but she is. It's hard not to when the chemistry between them is palatable.
Finn knew that there was something special about Pru as soon as she walked into his pub. He wanted her and he felt like she wanted him too. Sure life had been hard since his dad died but it wasn't all bad. His dad wasn't as great as a dad should've been. Pru called herself the fun whisper and he is gonna let her whisper to him. When he finds out her secret it's almost too much to handle for him.
This was a great story. I loved Finn, something about him was just sexy. Pru was a little weird but I ended up liking her. She carried so much guilt for someone so young that it was sad. I can't wait to read the next in the series. I love Jill Shalvis' writing! Leave a review to show your appreciation.
