The Girl He Used to Love by Amy Vastine
The past will always be between them
He swore he'd never return home. Then a flat tire lands Dean Presley back in Grass Lake, Tennessee, and he's forced to confront the woman he left behind. Faith Stratton was once the love of his life. Now her gifted brother could be the rising Nashville star Dean needs for his struggling music label. But it means taking Sawyer away from the horse therapy farm that Faith's so proud of. That won't be easy, especially since those old feelings that started all the trouble... Well, let's just say he can't go back there, because he doesn't want to relive the memories of the terrible accident that drove them apart.**
Thanks to Harlequin and NetGalley for the book in exchange for a honest review.
The death of his sister was all Faith's fault. She told her about their secret romance and his sister didn't take it well, and acted out and didn't come home from the party. He left home and never wanted to come back. His parents could visit him in Nashville. When his car breaks down right outside of town and he has no other choice he goes and of course one of the first people he sees is Faith. He avoids his family home because he is running from the past. What he's faced with is that sometimes when you look back you see that things aren't as clear as you thought they were in the moment. That blaming Faith was preemptive.
I have read everything this author has written and I'll continue to do so. She writes with heart and I really enjoy the way she tells a story. I also look forward to seeing what else comes from this series! I wonder who's story we'll hear next! Let me know what you think of this book!
