Her Cowboy Hero by Tanya Michaels
He's Just The Hired Help...
What kind of cockeyed Pollyanna is Colin Cade working for? Her porch is rotting, her "guest cabin" is cheerless and her land and livestock have only a geriatric cowboy to care for them. Yet Hannah Shaw is positive she can turn her ranch into a successful B and B--and that Colin's the man to make it happen.
But Colin can't stick around. He lives with the loss of his family by avoiding the memories, and the way he feels around Hannah and her young son is like a knife to the heart. Trouble is, he's better at ignoring his own pain than someone else's, and bright, cheerful Hannah has a heart as haunted as his own. She deserves to be happy--but could she really be with him?**
I received this book from Netgally and Harlequin for an honest review.
Colin is forever running from the past. His family is gone and he doesn't ever want that pain again. Having been fired from his job for "sleeping" with the bosses wife, he gets a tip that a widow is looking for ranch hands and its the perfect job. A widow won't be looking to fool around with the ranch hands. When he gets to the ranch he finds that he's been mistaken, the widow isn't an older lady, but a young one with a small child. It seems to be his worst nightmare except when he looks at Hannah, he feels something and he doesn't like it one bit. After he fixes the front porch he's out of there.
Hannah is trying to save the farm that is her son's legacy. It just seems like the battle is never ending. Everything needs fixing and she needs someone that will do it desperately and she's hoping that Colin that will be the one to help her do all that. Then she sees his reaction to her son and knows there is a story there.
It was great watching little by little the wall that Colin had built come down. It was a struggle but with his past it was a great war in his mind to get past the past. I enjoyed the book a lot and it was a fast read once I was able to settle and read. Check out this book and leave the author some love in a review!
This month's theme was summer blockbusters!
