Suddenly Last Summer

Suddenly Last Summer by Sarah Morgan

Fiery French chef Élise Philippe is having a seriously bad day. Not only have the grand opening plans for her beloved café fallen apart, but Sean O'Neil is back in town and looking more delectable than ever. Memories of the electrifying night they shared last summer leave Élise very tempted, but she knows all too well that eventually Sean will be leaving… again.

Being back in Vermont even temporarily is surgeon Sean O'Neil's worst nightmare. Returning home to the Snow Crystal Resort means confronting the guilt he feels about rejecting his family's lifestyle years ago. But discovering that Élise is still in Vermont and still sets his blood racing is a very welcome distraction! Remembering last summer and how good they were together is going to make walking away more difficult than he could imagine….

Family is everything, even to Sean O'Neil. When he gets the call that his grandfather Walter had collapsed he dropped everything to go back home to be with his family.  Back to the place that he feels is like a noose around his neck. His family though, they aren't the burden, its the family home. It's what he feels like made his father resent the family business, Snow Crystal Resort.  Last summer he had a hot night with the chef of the resorts restaurant,  Élise. Seeing her again he can't get her out of his mind, and since he's going to be home helping get the cafe ready to open.

Élise Philippe is a fantastic chef. She loves being at Snow Crystal, with the O'Neil's. They are her family now. She loves them and that love is more than enough. She doesn't do romantic relationships, she's learned her lesson on that one. Loving someone that way makes you vulnerable and open to being completely decimated emotionally. She can't do that again. Especially with Sean.

I really loved watching two former anti-relationship/ anti-love people fall helplessly in love with each other and not even realize it. They fought so hard  to keep their separate identities. In the end though love always wins, even familial love. I can't wait to read Tyler's story next.  Check out this story, I'm sure you'll love it!
