The Rebel and the Heiress by Michelle Douglas
Losing her family fortune, it's time for once-privileged Nell Smythe-Whittaker to make it on her own...with a little help from delicious bad boy Rick Bradford!
Rick hasn't seen Nell since childhood, but with a family mystery to solve Rick needs Nell as much as she needs him. Yet with a past as checkered as his, can Rick ever be good enough for this beautiful heiress? It's something he's willing to prove....**
Nell has just moved back to her home town to the house her grandmother left her. Having once been very well off she is now scraping by. She doesn't let it get her down though. She needed to see Rick Bradford to apologize and to give him a letter from a former employee. The letter shocks both of them to the core and sets them out on a mystery that needs to be solved. Along the way Nell starts to develop feelings for Rick but she knows that the rebel from her childhood doesn't stick around for relationships.
Rick didn't seem like he was just a bad boy.. He was actually a bit rude. He was abrupt and not very nice sometimes. There were times where I could see the sweet side but it wasn't enough for me to like him. I also thought that Nell was a big pushover. In the end this book was alright for me.
Thanks to Harlequin and Netgalley for the book so that I could bring you this months theme of International Weddings!
Looking forward to next months theme of Lawmen! I'll see you next time!
