Up to Me

Up to Me by Christi Barth

Ella Mayhew's always appreciated the beautiful view of Seneca Lake from the spa window of her family's hotel. But the view improves dramatically when a hot stranger runs across the grounds—shirtless. He's the first man to kickstart her hormones in the three years since she lost her parents, and she doesn't even know his name.

Graydon Locke's on his umpteenth undercover assignment. The routine's always the same: assess a business, recommend it for closure, then roll out before anyone discovers his decisions impact hundreds of lives. He's always believed nothing good comes out of small towns. Why would this one be different? Then he makes two classic rookie mistakes—falling for the sweet, sexy girl who owns the very business he's on the verge of axing. And letting the town's residents get involved in both his life, and his relationship with Ella.

Ella's the best thing to ever happen to Gray, but he's lied to her from the start. If he pulls the plug on Mayhew Manor, the entire town may crumble. Ella couldn't save her parents, but it's up to her to save their hotel. Even if that means turning her back on true love.

I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Graydon is a professional hitman, well a business hitman. He goes in to assess and then decide if it needs to be purchased and closed or not. He's not a monk, he has rendezvous with women, but there is something about Ella, the cute woman that runs the spa. What he doesn't expect is the whole town to be involved with their "relationship". He doesn't know what its like to have people care about what's going on his life.

Ella is still dealing with what she calls Disaster Day. When she sees the man run by the spa. She's attracted to him and its the first time someone has stirred that any kind of lust in her in three years. She is tired of playing it safe and Gray is something she wants to go after. She is used to the locals being involved, in fact she has a weird dependency on them and their advice.

It was so sweet watching Ella and Gray flirt back and forth. I felt for Ella when she was sharing her story, it was so very hard for her and Gray treated her like gold. It was so hard watching them knowing that Grey was there to evaluate her family business. The business that she wanted nothing to do with when she was young, now is in danger and the man she's fallen for is responsible for it all. Love may be amazing but the people she grew up with and that have counted on the Manor to be their lively hoods. It was so good, I loved reading this book and look forward to the next one! Let me know what you think! Leave the author some love in the form of a review!
