Unexpected

Unexpected by Lilly Avalon

Ever had one of those days? Alina Lyons is having one. Everything keeps falling apart and going wrong. Just when she thinks it couldn't get worse, it does. After a case of mistaken identity and a broken heart, she finds herself questioning the things she thought she knew. She wonders who she can turn to or trust anymore.

An unlikely bond with her former best friend's ex, Ryan Wilcox, sends her life in a new direction. He offers her a place to stay while she gets her life back on track. His friendship is exactly what she's been missing—what she's been needing. Alina's never felt this alive. As time goes by, the dynamic of their relationship becomes more than either of them expected. A few innocent kisses could lead them in a new direction, but are they prepared for what's on the other side?

Only one way to find out.

Thank you to the author for the book in exchange for a honest review.

Seems like Alina just can't catch a break. She's out of work and the girl she thought was her best friend is sleeping with her boyfriend. Not only was she her best friend but she's her roommate, and now she's got nowhere to go. Luckily the guy that is the ex of the ex-friend/roommate is there and he offers his couch until she can figure something out. He's a great guy and they have sparks.. SO many sparks, there could be fireworks! Right now thought she doesn't trust her judgement. I mean she should of known that the BF and the BFF were cheating; well that's what she thinks. The longer she hangs out with Ryan the closer she wants to get, fighting it is becoming hard.

Ryan is pretty low key, he just goes with the flow. Now that he's got an ex girlfriend and a new roommate for the short term, he isn't feeling that upset. He is thinking he's dodged a bullet with it all and to boot he's got a new friend that he's highly attracted to but he knows that she's not in that place yet. He can wait, he's patient. He doesn't mind Alina staying with him, he likes having her there and she fits in his life. He's attracted to her and not just physically, shes funny and smart too.

This book was easy to read, Ryan and Alina just fit. Sometimes it was a little two easy. While there was some fighting the attraction hard core on Alina's side, the friendship they shared was sweet and good. He was a friend that she needed and she was there for him too. Some spots I felt were added to amp some drama but they were predictable and ended up falling a little flat. In the end it was an enjoyable read that I think you could enjoy too! Leave the author love in the form of a review. They deserve it!!
