A Nomadic Witch

A Nomadic Witch by Debora Geary

Oh what to say about this book.  In this one we get to see more of Marcus Buchanan the crotchety nephew of Moira matriarch of the Nova Scotia witches. Marcus is a bachelor and is living in the past. His past is full of pain and loss. When he was very young he lost his brother Evan to the mists, and he can't get past it. The mists terrify Marcus more than words can ever express. It haunts him and he feels like he could of saved Evan if he had been more aware. Sometimes things just don't work that way.

While lounging around the witches lounge in Realm, Nell, Sophie and Moira, encounter a gold lamay wearing woman claiming to have a message from Evan. The women don't know what to think because they can't figure out if she is being honest and they don't know how she hacked her way in to a room that only certain people can get in to. Her message is simple, Evan sends love and hurts for those who still mourn him. "There is a small traveler coming. A babe. Marcus is to watch for her. Her name is Morgan, and she is to be his."

Everyone is shell shocked, Marcus doesn't like children. He barely tolerates big people. Never the less when wee Morgan shows up on his porch covered in magic everyone takes notice and close ranks to help protect the small one. Marcus resists with all he has. He can't get attached to this child, then her leave like Evan did.  It would end him.

Watching Morgan worm her way in to Marcus' heart was one of the sweetest and most loving things I have read in a long time.  It was so awesome to see Marcus turn from a curmudgeon to a man free of guilt and open to love.

I urge you to read this series of books. I've enjoyed being a part of witch central so much. Everyone of these books made me feel like I was right there in the book with the family. Wrapped in warmth and love.
