Ride with Me

Very rarely I feel, does a contemporary romance novel really take me on an adventure outside of the bedroom like Ride with Me by Ruthie Knox did.  I’m your typical prissy girl that loves her indoor plumbing and nail polish, but this book had me wanting to strap on a camelback and hit the trail to find an adventure of my own.

We’re first introduced to Tom, a loner bike mechanic with a shady past, who is about to embark on the Trans American trail from Oregon to Virginia over the summer.  His sister who is worried about him tackling such a challenging trail all by himself, secretly begins corresponding with Alex a fellow Trans Am cyclist looking for a partner.  One guilt trip later and Tom finds himself meeting on a beach to start his adventure with Alex.  Only turns out the dude Tom was planning on ditching ASAP is a woman, and a beautiful one at that.

Things only pick up from here, banter, misunderstandings, and of course heat between these characters lend for an exhilarating tale.  Ruthie Knox does a fantastic job bringing the reader into the treacherous trail, and also sharing the beauty of the ride with us as well.  I can’t say enough about the chemistry between Lexie ( Alex’s real nickname) and Tom, it turns this story from a simple adult fiction into a page turning love story.  If you like some adventure with your spice this is a must read.
