Chasing Castles

Chasing Castles by Jiffy Kate

Long before Dani Reed and Micah Landry, there was the story of Deacon and Camille.

Camille Benoit loved to express herself on canvas and was a dreamer at heart. The small farm she was born and raised on bordered the Landry Plantation, providing her with prime real estate for daydreaming. Even though she spent a lot of time with her head in the clouds, one thing she was always certain about were her feelings for Deacon. He might’ve been two years older and one of her brother’s best friends, but none of that mattered to Cami.

Deacon Landry, older brother to Micah, was the local football star. The town might’ve put him on a pedestal, but he always had his feet firmly planted in the rich Louisiana soil. With all of his skills on and off the field, a good head on his shoulders, and a heart of gold, he was quite the catch, and everyone knew it, especially his long-time best friend, Cami.

"I know we've done things slowly, but I've loved you since I knew what it meant to love someone. "

He is all her heart has ever known. Her past, present, and future. But will the future live up to her dreams? **

When I read Micah and Dani's story I was hoping to get to read Cami and Deacon's story soon after. Life happens and I kept forgetting to read them. I remedied that recently! I'm so glad I waited because all of the books were available for me to binge on!

Cami and Deacon have known each other for as long as they can remember. Their families are neighbors and their parents are friends. Also, Cami has been in love with Deacon for as long as she can remember. All Deacon sees her as is his little sister.

Deacon has a great life, his parents are great, his relationship with his brother is tight and school is good. He's a senior and getting ready to go to college. He has feelings for his neighbor Cami, but he thinks he shouldn't have feelings for her because she's younger and a family friend. He kisses her at his graduation party and its the best feeling. But he goes to college and does college things. Will the time ever be right for his love to grow and be shown for Cami?

These two, I loved them. I loved that even though they loved each other for a long time it wasn't easy for them to have their happily ever afters. A beautiful story written by awesome funny women!
