Hopeless

Sometimes discovering the truth can leave you more hopeless than believing the lies…

That’s what seventeen-year-old Sky realizes after she meets Dean Holder. A guy with a reputation that rivals her own and an uncanny ability to invoke feelings in her she’s never had before. He terrifies her and captivates her all in the span of just one encounter, and something about the way he makes her feel sparks buried memories from a past that she wishes could just stay buried.

Sky struggles to keep him at a distance knowing he’s nothing but trouble, but Holder insists on learning everything about her. After finally caving to his unwavering pursuit, Sky soon finds that Holder isn’t at all who he’s been claiming to be. When the secrets he’s been keeping are finally revealed, every single facet of Sky’s life will change forever.

I had to digest this story for a few days before I could write the review. Holder is officially my new book friend, seriously can not say enough about how much he swooned me.

I have been a fan on Colleen Hoover since I read her Slammed series last spring, and this book did not disappoint. I have to say one thing that I love about Ms. Hoovers writing is her character development, I always feel invested in even the smallest character. She really adds layers and a real voice to them.

Now back to my boyfriend lol from the moment we met Holder through Sky's eyes I was dying, tough guy exterior but smart and witty. There is so much mystery and depth behind him that kept me turning page after page. The tension between Sky and Holder from the very first eye contact felt real to me as the reader.

I don't want to go in to much of the plot as I will no doubt spoil it somehow but just like the characters there is so much more to this story then meets the eye. Attention to detail make this believable and heart breaking.

I really loved Sky, and I have to say one of my favorite scenes in the book is their First kiss that wasn't a kiss. KILLS ME.

Read this book, swoon with me, but hands off my book boyfriend ;)
