They were masters of the darkness, searching through eternity for a mistress of the light...
The stranger silently summons her from across the continents, across the seas. He whispers of eternal torment, of endless hunger...of dark, dangerous desires. And somehow American surgeon Shea O'Halloran can feel his anguish, sense his haunting aloneness, and she aches to heal him, to heal herself.
Drawn to the far Carpathian mountains, Shea finds a ravaged, raging man, a being like no other. And her soul trembles. For in his burning eyes, his icy heart, she recognizes the beloved stranger who's already become part of her. This imperious Carpathian male compels Shea to his side. But is she to be his healer...or his prey? His victim...or his mate? Is he luring her into madness...or will his dark desire make her whole?
In the last review, I stated that I would give this at least one more book. I am kinda glad I did. This was better than the first and actually caught my attention.
This book opens with Jacques, the brother of Mikhail. He is being held by the same people that attacked Raven. Then we see Shea and how she is plagued by an illness that no human medication can cure. She seems to have the same ability that Raven had.
Like true fashion, Shea and Jacques are launched on an adventure of desire and an ultimate plot of betrayal.
Character development is better in this book. The author seems to be growing in this second book.
Only time will tell,
