The Real Thing by Brenda Jackson
I received this book from Net Galley and Harlequin for their monthly themes!
I haven't read any of the other books in this series but I didn't find that I was lacking anything from reading this as a stand alone.
Trinity had a problem and it was one she couldn't seem to get rid of. One of the doctors at the hospital where she was doing her residency was harassing her. Even though Trinity told him she wasn't interested in a sexual relationship with him, he still was pursuing her. When her sister suggests that her brother in law Adrian pretend to be her boyfriend she thinks why not, she can't get the doctor to leave her alone, this couldn't hurt. Plus Adrian is good looking, it won't be a hardship to spend some time with him. It's the perfect relationship really, because Trinity isn't looking for a partner, she's content with being single.
Adrian doesn't mind helping Trinity out. He's attracted to her but he doesn't ever want to settle down so he won't be acting on that attraction. After spending time with her though he realizes she's not only beautiful but smart and funny. The attraction increases and he fights acting on it and fails. There's also the issue with the doctor that doesn't seem to care that he's Trinity's boyfriend.
I really enjoyed watching their relationship grow and become more. I really liked that even when it was a fake relationship Adrian was loyal and took his role as a boyfriend very seriously. Go read it! I think you'll enjoy it!
I'm loving these themes for every month!! I have one more for March then I'm on to April's theme!!
