Seize the Night (Dark-Hunter #7)

Valerius isn't a popular Dark-Hunter ― he's a Roman, which means that the largely Greek Hunters have a major grudge against him and his civilization for superceding them. To make things worse, he's very conscious of his aristocratic background and breeding. So it serves him right when he runs into Tabitha Devereaux. She's sassy, sexy, and completely unwilling to take him seriously. (Not to mention that she's the twin sister of the wife of former Dark-Hunter Kyrian ― Val's mortal enemy.)

What Tabitha does take seriously is hunting and killing vampires ― and soon she and Val have to grapple with the deadliest of all Daimons ― one who's managed to come back from the dead, and one who holds a serious grudge against both of them.

To win against evil, Val will have to loosen up, learn to trust, and put everything on the line to protect a man he hates and a woman who drives him nuts.

There is so much plot wrapped into these almost 400 pages. Dear god, there are a lot of things that I have read in CON that are making a lot of sense now.

To the main plot. Valerius and Tabitha. Fate is a bitch (even though we find out that Fate had very little to do with this story). Kyrian and Amanda are bound by love and now Amanda's sister and Kyrian's long time enemy are falling in love. Oh, how will this work out?

Des is back and he is bent on revenge. Of course there is more at play than we realize. Stryker and Apolymi have their hands in the pot as well. Urian comes back as well and we see just how bound Strker's son is bound to Ash.

Then there is Acheron or T-Rex as Talon calls him. We see some cracks in his armor in this story. The scene in the cemetery with Simi holding him in her arms while in her demon form was perhaps the best visual of the whole book. We also see Ash in all of his glory as well. The things that man can do is amazing. Also, there was a deal made between Apolymi and Artemis that I cannot fear what will come from this little deal to save Ash's life.

I know I have bee a critic of the sex scenes in this series. I can tell you that the last two books, have really given some scorching sex scenes. Yum!!

Then there is Nick. Oh, the things that make perfect sense now.

1. We see how he firsts meets Simi, unlike CON, which I am not going to spoil for you!
2. How be becomes a Dark Hunter and the awful price he has to pay for that to happen.
3. Artemis and her desire to make Ash happy, yet she is torn between duty and love.
4. Erik and Tabatha and how they broke up.
5. The death of Nick's mother. We know from CON, what this event actually caused to happen.

I cannot wait to read even more and see how the past/future is effected y Nick's actions in CON.

Quotes:

“Where are you anyway? (Acheron)
I don't know. I hear some godawful kind of music from outside, horns blaring, and I'm in a house with a Mohawk cuckoo bird, a transvestite, and a knife-wielding lunatic. (Valerius)
Why are you at Tabitha's? (Acheron)”
Sherrilyn Kenyon, Seize the Night

“What? It's not my fault I stab all the fanged people. They shouldn't look like Daimons. (Tabitha)
I didn't look like a Daimon, but you stabbed me. (Valerius)
Yeah, well, you looked like a lawyer so I had to kill you. It was a moral imperative. (Tabitha)”
Sherrilyn Kenyon, Seize the Night

“Just how many sisters do you have? (Valerius)
Eight. (Tabitha)
Eight? (Valerius)
What? (Tabitha)
I'm just pitying whatever poor males lived in that house with all of you. It must have been truly frightening at least one week out of every month. (Valerius)
Was that a joke? (Tabitha)
Merely a frightening statement of fact. (Valerius)”
Sherrilyn Kenyon, Seize the Night
