Mary Mary Quite Contrary (The Grimm Diaries Prequels #5)

The Devil's take on fairy tales, exposing the origins of some of the most important, yet never explained, elements in the fairy world. Darker things the Brothers Grimm didn't want you to know about. More hints would just spoil the fun.

Let's just say that at some point in the Dreamworld even the devil was about so sell his soul.

In this fifth installment of the Grimm Diaries, we find the Devil might have met his match....In the form of a girl...Mary.

We find the Devil asking his children in Hell for something to do. He is bored with watching humans. Here we find that Peter is one of his children.. Interesting......

The Devil actually considers banning Pan, since he wants to stay young forever. However, Pipi Longstocking brings him a mirror where he can look into the bad sides of people. He uses the mirror to look into Heaven. When he does this, the mirror shatters, sending shards of glass into the eyes of humans, turning them into evil people. Part of this scares the Devil, however, he wants to find the creator of the mirror. Something so wicked, why wouldn't the Devil want it?

He calls upon Rumpelstiltskin, who is good at finding wicked children, but is not able to find the creator of the mirror. So, the Devil starts to watch Elizabeth Bathory who with the shard, turns into an evil child, and hence grows into a wicked woman.

Elizabeth gets impregnated by a peasant and gives birth to Mary. Now the Devil is intrigued. He gets to watch two people now. Mary, who he is convinced is evil and has some of the glass in her as well and Elizabeth, who now seems to have found a way to fight off the evil inside her.

Eventually, the devil quits watching Elizabeth, fascinated with the hellish life Mary is growing up in. We soon find that Elizabeth is E V I L. She loves to torture females in her town, bathing in their blood. Eventually, she even kills her daughter and bathes in her blood. However, the glass makes that victim immortal and Mary comes back and kills her mother.

The Devil know that he need to stop her. Mary was jumping now from mirror to mirror causing pain and suffering. The Devil traps her in a mirror and sends it to the Queen of Sorrow.

"Mary Mary Quite Contrary......"

Until next time....
